BRIEF PRESENTATION
Agricultural Cooperative of Production-Elaboration-Trading of Garlic Vissas was founded in 2009 by a small group of producers with the purpose of producing, processing and trading garlic and onions, while in a few years it developed rapidly, increasing its members and production and modernizing its facilities, following integrated management in its crops under Global GAP and Agro 2.1 & 2.2 Certification. The packaging plant has contemporary mechanical equipment, short line with gram accuracy, packaging machines and temperature-controlled cold rooms for excellent garlic preservation during all year. The Cooperative produces and processes over 2.000 tons of garlic which are marketed in Greece and Central Europe.
ROLE IN PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
A.S.P.E.E. Skordou Vissas, through its agronomist, undertakes to inform the Scientific Team about the batching process that is followed during the standardization of garlic and the annual production program, in order to precisely determine the product’s sampling rate. It also provides the samples to be analyzed and the final products that participate in the exhibitions.
